Cruising - Dunmore East Sea School

If Idyllic Islands, Long sandy beeches, good marinas, and great restaurants sound like your kind of cruise, south Brittany has it all. For the same price as a weeks sail in Ireland or the U.K. you could be vying your trade and putting all that day skipper theory into practice in sunnier a climate.

For spring and summer 2012 Dunmore East Sea School have their 29 foot school sailing yacht “Showgirl” based in the Gulf of Morbihan next to Quiberon bay

Sample Itinerary:

Saturday Airport transfer to boat followed by safety briefing.

Sunday Sail up through the Gulf of Morbihan amongst the numerous islands spending the night in the medival city of Vannes with dinner in on of the many restaurants.

Monday A night on the Island of Lie d’Arz great for a quick dip or a walk.

Tuesday 4 hour sail over to La Roche Bernard.

Wednesday Visit the beautiful island of Hodic

Thursday Short sail over to Le Palais the main town on the Island of Belle Ile made famous by some of Claude Monet paintings.

Friday Last night at Auray.

These are only a few of the very many places to see within a week in south Brittney you may decide on different ports of call and this is no problem.

Cost: the basic cost of boat and skipper for one week is only €499 per person based on 3 crew.
Flights, Meals, Marina fees, are extra.

Flights:

Waterford → Lorient with Aer Arann

Dublin → Nantes with Ryanair (as low as €64 return)

Meals: Each person contributes €100 to the ships kitty for groceries, wine, and marina fees this will last the week and cover all meals onboard breakfast, lunch and some dinners. At the end of the week all money left is divided back to each person.
